Save the dates for AFI events in 2023
AFI will hold two major in-person events this year, both as full day conference programs followed by a networking dinner. Mark your calendar and keep an eye on the AFI Events website page for updates on program details.
Tuesday 4 July: ESG Goals and Target Setting (Adelaide, SA)
A mountain of work has been invested into improving the sustainability of Australian agriculture and communicating this to the wider community. From industry frameworks, commodity certification, Government pledges and local initiatives, a wide array of sustainability activities are being undertaken in the sector. However, the next step in the ESG landscape which many of these initiatives have struggled with is setting goals and targets. In October 2022, the AFI held its annual Roundtable event which focused on cultivating ESG capability in Australian agriculture. Speakers explored the meaning of ESG in agriculture in a broad sense and looked at jargon busting, how technology can help and where industry BMPs fit in the picture. Join us on the 4th of July in Adelaide to expand upon these discussions into setting ESG goals and targets.
Tuesday 17 October: AFI Roundtable 2023 (Canberra, ACT)
Incorporated in late 2003, the AFI will celebrate almost two decades of contributing to the ag policy discussion in Australia at the end of this year. What will the next two decades hold? Join us in the nation’s capital this October to help shape these discussions as we reflect back and look forward to ensuring a viable future for the Australian agricultural community by promoting evidence-based policy solutions that maximise the economic and social wellbeing of our farmers.
